First time buyer questions

Am I a first time homebuyer?

You may be, even if you owned before. Many programs count you as a first time buyer if you haven't owned and lived in your own home in the last 3 years. Some programs have exceptions for veterans.

How much do I need to buy a home in South Florida?

It depends on your income, credit, and the home you choose. Low down payment loan options, down payment assistance, and seller concessions may lower what you need up front. The guide walks you through each one, and I'm happy to run your numbers.

Is there down payment assistance in Broward County?

There may be. Florida Hometown Heroes, Florida Housing programs, Broward County purchase assistance, and some city programs may help income qualified buyers. Funds are often first come, first served, so timing matters.

Should I keep renting or buy?

When you rent, your payment builds your landlord's wealth. When you own, each mortgage payment can build your equity. The right answer depends on your goals and your numbers, and the guide helps you compare.
